Beyond Her Body is a deeply personal series exploring the pressures women face in the age of social media and the enduring influence of the male gaze. Inspired by my own experiences and the way women are scrutinised online, the work portrays a woman confronting herself in the bathroom mirror, pulling at features she deems imperfect. Through the use of smeared red lipstick and exaggerated mascara, the imagery evokes a sense of distress and emotional vulnerability. The title speaks to the central message: women are more than their physical appearance, despite a digital culture that often reduces them to just that. This series aims to shed light on the quiet, everyday battles many women fight to feel seen, valued, and enough in a media saturated world.
